SAT Study: Test Your Knowledge of Comma Grammar
This is a nice iPhone/iPad/iPod app from Pearson that focuses on correct punctuation using the ever-so-confusing comma. It’s a quick and easy way to study just this one topic for a test. I saw this online and asked the good people of Pearson for a code which they kindly gave me. I suspect this is a series of apps on the topic of grammar. I will find out and get more because, frankly, I could use the help myself!
The format is 4 sentences and the user chooses which one is punctuated correctly. Here’s an example:
“Let’s go the beach” Craig said.
“Let’s go to the beach” Craig said.
“Let’s go to the beach, ” Craig said.
Let’s go to the beach”, Craig said.
Did you choose the first one? Try again!
Did you choose the second one? Try again!
Did you choose the fourth one? Try again!
Yes, the third one is the correct answer. Quotation marks go AROUND the comma! See, it’s not that easy!
This is another tricky comma concept. Things in a series:
I showered dressed and fed, my cats.
I showered, dressed and fed my cats.
I showered, dressed, and fed my cats.
I showered dressed and fed my cats.
Yes, the third one is correct. Use commas to join items in a series.
The app is $3.99. To purchase, just click on the icon to buy at iTunes.

You have a great blog, I love this post!
But I have gotten 5 popups since I have been here and this post is the only thing I have clicked on so far.
It is kind of distracting.
I’m sorry about the pop-ups … I found the problem. I had rank widgets showing my alexa and google ranking that had hidden pop ups built in. I’ve removed them from my site. Sorry about that again!
